115g plain chocolate; 115g butter; 3 eggs; 200g caster sugar; 1/2tsp vanilla extract; a pinch of salt; 150g plain flour; 175g chocolate chips. makes about 24 bars |

Set a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water and gently melt together the chocolate and butter. In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture. Sift over the flour and fold in, then add the chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into a lined and greased 33 x 23cm baking tin. Spread evenly. Bake for 30 minutes until just set at 180c/gas4. The brownies should be slightly moist inside. Leave to cool in the tin. Once cold, remove from tin and cut into bars to serve. Makes about 24. |
