Spaghetti carbonara

Recipe Ingredients
450g spaghetti;
2 tbsp olive oil;
1 onion, finely chopped;
2 garlic cloves, crushed;
150g dry cured streaky bacon, chopped;
2 eggs, lightly beaten;
142ml double cream;
black pepper;
50g grated parmesan cheese, plus extra to serve.
 
Recipe Method
Cook the spaghetti according to pack insructions.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan and cook the onion and garlic for 5 minutes. Add the bacon and cook for a further 5 minutes until the bacon turns golden.

Beat the cream and parmesan into the eggs and season with black pepper.

Drain the pasta and return to the pan. Add the egg mixture, onions, garlic and bacon. Gently cook for 1 minute and then serve straight away with extra grated parmesan and black pepper.
