Apple and cinnamon oat bake

Recipe Ingredients
3 golden delicious apples, cut into thin slices;
275g plain wholemeal flour;
150g porridge oats;
110g light brown soft sugar;
225g butter;
1 tsp ground cinnamon;
1 tsp salt.
 
Recipe Method
Add the cinnamon to the apple slices and toss to make sure all the slices are coated with cinnamon.

In a bowl mix together the flour, oats and salt.

Gently melt the butter and sugar together over a low heat. Add to the flour mixture and mix thoroughly.

Press half of this mixture into the base of a 25.5cm x 15cm non-stick baking tin (which has been lightly greased with butter). Arrange the apple slices on top. Now top with the remaining mixture and press down firmly.

Bake in a pre heated oven (200c/ gas 6) on the center shelf for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before marking into squares.
