| Recipe Ingredients |
| 115g butter, melted; 75g light soft brown sugar; 6 tbsp maple syrup; 2 eggs; 115g self-raising flour; 75g pecans, chopped; for topping: 115g plain chocolate chips; 50g butter; 12 pecan nut halves to decorate. makes about 12 brownies |
| Recipe Method |
| Put the melted butter, 4 tbsp maple syrup, eggs
and flour into a large bowl and beat together for 1 minute until
smooth. Stir in the nuts and pour the mixture into a lined and greased 25cm x 18cm cake tin. Level the top. Bake for 30 minutes at 180c/gas4 until well risen and firm to the touch. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and allow to cool completely. To make the topping, gently melt the chocolate chips and remaining syrup over a low heat, allow to cool slightly then spread over the cake. Press in the pecan halves over the top and leave to set for about 10 minutes. Cut into squares. |
