Beef and stout casserole

Serves: 6

Recipe Ingredients
900g braising beef, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces;
600g mix root vegetables;
1 beef stock cube, made up to 200ml with boiling water;
44oml can stout;
1 tbsp cornflour;
4 tbsp sweet tomato and chilli chutney.
 
Recipe Method
Put the meat in a casserole dish along with the vegetables. Add the stock and the stout. Cover and cook for 2 hours 30 minutes in a preheated oven (170c/gas3).

Make a smooth paste by mixing the cornflour with a little cold water. Mix this into the casserole along with the chutney. Cover and return to the oven for a further 30 minutes.
